Summer 2019 is over!

Hello family of Poplar Point Camp!

Today is the first day of fall and yet we all know that here in Alabama that only means the temperature will reach the low 90s verse the mid 90s. Though in just a few weeks we will begin to see groups coming out for fall retreats from a Christian farming conference, to homeschool campouts (two this fall) and multiple youth groups.

Our news from the summer is that we grew in the number of groups and number of campers that attended weeks of camp this summer! And even more importantly each of the groups reported that campers made first time decisions for Christ! Praise God!

There is one area that I would love you all to come along side Poplar Point to pray about. Our 2001 zero turn mower died right before summer camp and we had to purchase a new mower. To do so we our making payments, which we had not budgeted for in the 2019 budget. This has taxed our bottom line. Please pray that God will provide the funding for this. If you and your family could also prayerfully consider donating to help fund this wonderful piece of equipment to keep our camp looking beautiful. You can make donations directly at Poplar Point Camp or mail checks to the camp.

Another way you can help us is getting the word out or booking our newest activity that the campers LOVED. We purchased an outdoor laser tag system. It is extremely high quality and portable. We can host groups for an afternoon of laser tag or we can even pack it up and bring it to your church for an outreach or fun activity at your location. You can learn more at

Finally, we still have some dates open for the fall, so if your Church or groups are looking for a place please pass our name along to the leaders.

In Christ,
