We are really excited about the future of Poplar Point Camp and are excited to announce our next phase of improving the camp to make it one of the premier camps in Alabama.

HELP US FIX THE CAMP POOL!

The camp pool was built in 1985. With the loving hard work of volunteers and camp staff they have kept the pool going long after its scheduled time for a full resurfacing.

This summer a chunk of the surface broke off, making it necessary for us to resurface the entire pool. This new surface should extend the life of the pool another 50 years. Then many, many more campers can enjoy cooling off in the pool while enjoying their time at Poplar Point Camp.

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE POOL?

Every concrete pool has to be resurfaced every 25-30 years. The camp pool has not been resurfaced in over 37 years!

The camp needs to drain the pool and have a professional pool company resurface the entire pool. We believe the best course of action is to do this work with a company that will lay a fiberglass surface in the pool that should last 50 years. This option is also cheaper than redoing the same concrete surface.

The camp is also fundraising an additional small amount to build an outdoor pavilion with bathrooms at our athletic fields to develop a more appealing and functional space for groups to use.

Help us today

Every summer campers lives change because of this camp that is set aside for youth, children and adults to get away from the world and focus on their relationship with Jesus Christ. Please join us in this journey and keep the camp facilities in great working condition.

Will you consider donating to the Poplar Point camp improvements today. We need to fundraise this money quickly so that we can get it scheduled and completed before summer camp begins in June 2023.
